Nature Conservation Morning for Young People: Hedgelaying

Join us for our next Nature Conservation Morning!

In this session, we will be hedgelaying on the quarry site.
Hedgelaying is a traditional skill practised over winter, while trees and shrubs are dormant and birds are not nesting in the hedges. Using hand-tools, we will cut branches and weave them into the hedge to make it thick and strong. The dense hedge provides excellent shelter and habitat for wildlife.

Work with hand tools, learn about wildlife, develop practical conservation skills AND have fun!
