Community Work Day: Willow Coppicing on the Main Reserve

For our next community work day, we’ll be coppicing willow on the main reserve.

We coppice willow to prevent the trees from growing too tall. If they are allowed to grow, crows and other avian predators will use them to perch and nest in, which would in turn be a threat to breeding waders and their eggs and chicks.
